Ah, the bedroom; the sanctuary of a home. 'Nuff said, I think. Here are some super bedrooms!

Thanks to all our customers for joining High Fashion Home and the Arbor Day Foundation to help save our planet.  For every piece of furniture sold at High Fashion Home, one tree will be planted through the Arbor Day Foundation.  As of March 31, 2012, we have helped plant 32,061 trees.  

Here are some of the benefits one tree can make for years to come:

• One tree can absorb more than a ton of carbon dioxide

• Over the course of 50 years, a single tree can control $31,500 of soil erosion.

• Trees help maintain clean water supplies.

• One tree produces nearly 260 pounds of oxygen a year.

The trees planted through the Arbor Day Foundation will help produce 8,335,860 pounds of oxygen in the next year.  Thanks to all of our wonderful customers for helping the world breath a little bit easier.

In honor of Earth Day, which is this Sunday, April 22nd, I thought we should have a post dedicated to Earth friendly items and ways to lessen our carbon footprint. Whether it's re-doing a piece of furniture rather than buying a new one or using natural, non-toxic household cleaners, every little bit helps and each of us can make a difference. HAPPY EARLY EARTH DAY!!

I found Olive and Cocoa thanks to Oprah Magazine. Originally I was attracted by a succulent planter box that was featured in a Mother's Day Gift Ideas part of the magazine but when I went to the Olive and Cocoa website, there was SO much more! Yes, yes, it's true! Justin Timberlake and longtime friend/interior designer, Estee Stanley, have worked together to design a line of home goods and art that will be available via HomeMint, in May. Elle Decor interviewed both Justin and Estee and shared photos of a few pieces from their collection. Notice the blue and white?? I told you it was a trend right now! Check it out!

My mom has forever loved using blue and white to decorate with. I mean, she LOVES those colors together. Used in a room, blue and white give the space a crisp, clean, classic look. Blue and white decor is also very on trend right now. ( You will see more of it in our Justin Timberlake post tomorrow!)

Designer, David Lawrence recently designed a Hampton home using plenty of blue and white touches. I love those rugs!

Oh how we love Pinterest and all of the how to's, DIY projects, and inspiration it brings. Besides loving Pinterest, we, at High Fashion Home, love food as well! As we glace through all the foodie boards, we realize dinner could be serve plenty times over. So we decide to make a three course recipe tonight of Pin's. Let's explore what pin's we choose to fill our empty stomach's at the end of the day. No one wants to see us grumpy!

So, last week we put out a call via Facebook for customers and High Fashion Home lovers to send us photos of their High Fashion items in action. Brandi was the first one to answer that call with her INCREDIBLE wing chairs!! She got the chairs super cheap via Craigslist and had them upholstered (by Stevens Upholstery in Carrollton, TX) in a suzani style fabric that she got from High Fashion Home!! Love them so much!!
