How To Print DIY Patterned Fabric | Apartment Therapy Chicago
5:58 AMHow do you solve the dilemma of finding patterned curtains that will match your existing paint colors? Easy. Use the left over paint to stencil your own patterned drapes.
I saw this DIY project over at Apartment Therapy, and I thought it was a creatively, awesome idea. This budget friendly technique gives you unlimited possibilities in helping to tie in your drapery with the rest of your home decor. All you need is some canvas fabric, paint, and just the right stencil pattern.
Once you are done painting your walls, just use the left over paint to do your drapes!
With any DIY project, be prepared to put in some good ole fashion elbow grease.
By no means is this going to be easy. But the payoff can be immensely rewarding.
Voila! You won't have to worry about whether your drapery is going to match your wall colors.
This might be my favorite sandwich of all time.
The Braised Short Rib sandwich from North Restaurant is pure heaven. It is an off the menu item. There is so much flavor packed in the braised short rib, you don't even need the side of mustard. The lightly steamed broccoli and prosciutto was the perfect, refreshingly zesty side dish. I get emotional just thinking about this sandwich. North, do yourself a favor and put this on the main menu!
North Restaurant is located in the Domain Shopping Center in Austin, TX.
Love is such a strong word that I try not to throw around lightly. This is truly LOVE at first bite!
When driving through downtown Houston, I was mesmerized with the demolition of the old YMCA. It's like one of those Barbie houses / TV sitcom sets, where you peer into the living room.
The Five-Spice Pork Belly sandwich includes jalapeno slaw and sriracha on a toasted bun.

The Little Couple at High Fashion Home
12:17 AMJennifer from The Little Couple visited High Fashion Home back in January. She and her husband, Bill, were looking to decorate their new home that is currently being built. The episode just aired this past Tuesday. We weren't sure if our store was going to make it on an episode, so it was a cool surprise when HFH popped up on the show.

Chevron Design
1:23 AM
I was inspired to do this blog post by my friends curtains. I was at her house the other day (the cutest house I might add) and she had recently put up some green and white chevron (zig-zag) patterned curtains in her dining room. They looked amazing! They added a great pop of color to the room and the chevron pattern is eye catching but not overpowering AND she made them herself from some super marked down sheets she found. Win, win. So, her curtains got me looking around for more chevron design ideas. Enjoy.
I love this look because it is so bold!

The design on the floor is very complimentary to the space.

If you don't want to paint the whole floor, how about this DIY rug from SAS Interiors?
This wall looks incredible and it's DIY!!

LOVE this sofa!
Another view of the sofa. It works so well in the room and jazzes it up.

How To Accomodate More Guests in your Dining Room - freshome
5:35 AMThe bench seat against the wall allows for extra people to snuggle up next to one another.
From freshome, they have some great tips on how to creatively accommodate larger dinner parties. Whether you are looking for permanent or temporary solutions, they have a few ideas that can help in any situation.
Get creative. Host your dinner party in a way that you can use some adjacent seating.
Share seating with the adjacent room.
Use dining areas both inside and out. And if you have a view like this, I want to be sitting outside!

Black and White - desire to inspire
4:49 AM The lines between the kitchen and dining room are getting increasingly blurred.
Black and white has been a timeless color combination since the existence of fashion. Architect Matt Gibson, has created a black and white motif that is very modern and chic, yet warm and inviting. Take a tour of this elegant home in St. Kilda, Melbourne.
The living opens up to an outdoor patio. I love the combination of distressed leather chair, white shag rug, and over-sized sofa with built-in arm bookshelf for the arm.
The recessed lighting at the floor level adds immensely the standout outdoor ambiance.
I love the big ledge that bleeds from the patio space into the living room. It's very functional, serving as great display area for artwork and seating for guests at a party.
I can't get enough of that lighting. If I had an outdoor space like that, I would be grilling every day (Weather permitting, of course.).
This is the actual formal dining area with the gorgeous black and white wallpaper.

The Hotel Fasano Rio de Janeiro by Philippe Starck
2:10 PMFrom Contemporist, the Hotel Fasano in Rio de Janeiro is a jaw-dropping hotel from the legendary design eye of Philippe Starck. The hotel sits beach side with stunning views of the mountain side. After looking at these photos, my desire to visit Brasil has increased ten fold.
The Wilco Dining has a gorgeous mid-century modern appeal.
I come from the school of clean, crisp white bed sheets with just a splash of color. Understated, yet beautiful.
I like that the bed is actually floating in the middle room with the desk is set behind it. Very creative use of space.
Modern, white bathroom design that evokes futuristic chic.
The open shelf underneath the sink creates an airy feel . Nice and blissful.
The lobby has a lot of seating options using warm, earthy tones.
The English cigar room oozes "membership only."
When you have a view like that, the picture frame window replaces the flat screen TV that normally adorns the bar.
Yes please. The infinity pool leads up to a spectacular view of the Atlantic Ocean.
