Amazing Bathtub!!

I am not really sure it can be called a bathtub because it's unlike any tub I have EVER seen. I came across this bath area via Pinterest (and they found it via The Messes of Men who got it from French By Design who thanks Architectural Digest, WHEW!) and I just had to know what it was made of. Apparently, it's a giant piece of granite hollowed out and sculpted to be a tub. Not the least expensive tub around but what an exciting, unique and beautiful design.

The unsightly plumbing pipes are hidden in the wooden box! Clever.

Stella Love Furniture!

No, my name is not Stella but I do love furniture. More importantly, I love great furniture pieces. I came across the furniture creations from Stella Love today while checking out a new (to me) blog by Second ShoutOut (SS are passionate about vintage contemporary pieces and will have their own online marketplace soon). I adore the Stella Love creations (available through Nube Green)! She uses plaid fabrics and vintage Swiss Army blankets to bring life to these old furniture beauties.... (she also makes clothes!) Enjoy!

The Very Victorian Settee is Very Beautiful! The stripes and the plaid! I love the peek-a-boo plaid on the underside of the cushions.

Black Walls. A New Trend??

Lately, in several different magazines, I have noticed the use of black paint as the main wall color and then today I came across a post on Apartment Therapy mentioning the use of black walls in small spaces. What do you think? Does anyone have black walls (or a wall) in their home? Chalkboard painted walls don't count. ; )

I love the look of this dining room! Keeping the furniture and other accents on the lighter side save this room from looking like a cave.

Cocoa & Hearts is an online shop from Jen Ramos, the creator of Made By Girl shop and blog (we blogged about some prints from Made By Girl awhile back). Jen sells her own original artwork through Cocoa & Hearts. Her pieces are simple, very colorful and would be complimentary to just about any space.

Hello, Yellow

Yellow may not be the first color that comes to mind when decorating a room but why not? It's bright, cheery, adds a great pop of color and will fit it with the decor better than you think.

The yellow sofa looks great in this room! There's a lot of black and white in here and the yellow is a great compliment. Plus the orange of the flowers on the table and the kumquat tree just enhance the space. (photo from Better Homes and Gardens)

First, I love the idea of using decorative paper under a piece of glass to change the look of a bedside table. The lovely yellow and pink paper here just girlies up the table.

This floor is AMAZING!! I love the design and the shade of yellow is fantastic! The floor was a DIY project (using foam board to create the design) on Paisley Wallpaper.

True Blood: The New Compton House

I love True Blood (every Sunday night on HBO). I love Bill Compton (played by Stephen Moyer who is also married to Anna Paquin, who plays Sookie on the show). And I LOVE the remodeled Compton house (set) on True Blood! In seasons 1-3, the Compton house was severely run down and looked ready to be torn down but season 4 brings us the new, fabulously chic Compton house.

The foyer. The chandelier is the thing that inspired me to blog about this new set. I LOVE, LOVE it!!

(chandelier is from H.D. Buttercup, metal sphere surrounding chandelier is from Mortise & Tenon, hall table from Craig Olsen and wall sconces from LAMF)

I like the neutral colors in the living room with the sofas facing each other. Love the stripes on the curtains and the lamps are beautiful.

The office is darker with beautiful wallpaper, faux crocodile chairs and another amazing chandelier.
(Desk is from Eric Brand Furniture, faux croc chairs from 22 Bond St., chandelier from LAMF and the custom silk drum shade around the chandelier (LOVE that look) is from H.D. Buttercup)

I do love the wallpaper and the colors in the office. Don't even get me started on the gorgeous Alexander Skarsgard and Stephen Moyer!!

I've always been a big fan of leaning shelves.

I just found a great new interior design blog called Emma's Design Blog. It brings a neat, Scandinavian design and style perspective for home decor. The photos are clean and crisp. The decor is minimalist and modern. There is a lot to like while perusing through the website.

With clean white walls, it allows the dining room set to be the focal point.

Our very own Alpha Chairs are showcased with this functional desk.

The juxtaposition of modern materials with the raw concrete creates a unique balance of warmth and minimalism.

I like the thought of waking up to a convenient bath a few steps from the bed.

Words of wisdom coming from the kitchen sink. I like it!

I love how the picture frame is left justified with the leather sofa.
