Hendrix Desk, $1299
Crate and Barrel just came out with their 2010 fall collection of new furniture pieces. As usual, there are a bunch of things that caught my eye. What I couldn't help noticing were the Hendrix Desk and Phoenix Work Table. These two exclusive pieces were designed by uber-talented Thomas Bina. The reclaimed demolition hardwood and solid black walnut lends itself to a style that is both rustic and contemporary. The Wright Desk and Tyson Dining Table at High Fashion Home were both designed by Bina.

1:17 AM The soft mauve velvet, antique settee with the beautiful faux finish walls feels just right.
Courtesy of MadeByGirl(her blog is fantastic by the way), here are some great interior photography work by Virgina MacDonald.
You don't really see barstools at the main kitchen counter top, but I really like it. If your kitchen doesn't have space for an island, this is the best possible compromise to create seating space in you kitchen.
The secret to decorating any home...musical instruments. Even if you don't play an instrument, fake it. Placing a guitar strategically in certain areas automatically increases your interior design style quotient.
Very artistic, yet borderline graffiti.

What's New at HighFashionHome.com!
2:03 AM
It's a little long overdue, but here are some of my favorite new items that we uploaded to our website last month. Expect a slew of new furniture products to be shown on our website in 6 weeks. Our team is working diligently to introduce over 300 new items. This past go around, it took us 6 months from time we did the photo shoot to actually getting the products online. We'll attempt to do it in 2 months next time.
Until then, enjoy some of my faves for now!

W Retreat & Spa - Vieques (via Contemporist)
2:04 PMIn a marked departure from typical W Hotels, playful colors combine with the W Hotel's signature, sophisticated chic style.
W Retreat & Spa - Vieques marks the W Hotels first retreat in North America. Located on a remote island just off the coast of Puerto Rico, W Retreat & Spa combines the company's signature style and programming with 30-acres of stunningly, beautiful beachfront property.
Gorgeous lounge seating with a rainbow sheer awning.
Resembles the neutral grays that the customary W Hotels are famous for.
The illumination and soothing water element creates the dramatic "welcome" entrance.
A bed worth relaxing on.
An outdoor seating area that is truly "Lounge" worthy.
The pool side view glows at night.

Felt Makes Me Happy
1:00 AMI'm not sure why I fell asleep last night thinking about felt but I did. I guess it started when I got the bright idea to attempt making some felt toys/dolls for my daughter. I'm sure I can pull it off..... Right? So, today I checked out Etsy to see what other felt creations people come up with and I am even more inspired to give felt-y crafts a go. Here are some neat things I found. : )
I LOVE these carnival hydrangea felt clips (by Lou and Lee)!!! I haven't ordered them yet but believe me, I will. They will look so adorable in my daughter's hair.
Felt napkin rings by ItzFitz. So cute and they come on LOTS of different colors.
These yarn wreaths with felt flowers are too wonderful! Also by ItzFitz.
How about this Multi Color Rainbow Felt Disc Pillow? (by dedeetsyshop) So fun and colorful.
Another creation from dedeetsyshop. Circus Flower Beanbag Bookends. (Just a little FYI, dede's designs have been featured on Good Morning America and in Family Circle magazine.)

Here's a fancy felt design by TianaCHE. Special Occasions Felted Bolero.
Charcoal Felted Clutch by FuzzyLogicFelt.
I am so amazed by what people create with felt. Once upon a time I only thought of felt for poodle skirts!! Silly me. I will make something with felt before the year is over! If it turns out well, maybe I'll post my creation for all of you to see. : ) In the mean time, I need to make a trip to High Fashion Fabrics.

Uber talented, fashion designer David Peck recently bought this beautiful floral, celadon fabric from High Fashion Home. He constructed the applique florals as a mini-dress and a cool backdrop for this photo shoot with Gloss Magazine. His ability to combine the refined elegance of the Parisian style with American practicality will make him a fashion artist to keep an eye on. No wonder the David Peck Collection has been a favorite for celebrities like Taylor Swift since it's launch in 2006.

Small Spaces
It's a Shed, It's a Guest Room, It's a Shipping Container!
1:23 AMI found this incredible shipping container remodel today while checking out Dwell. It's part garden shed, part guest room/playroom/whatever room. Stacey Hill wanted to add some extra space to her home and with the help of Texas architect Jim Poteet, she got exactly what she wanted. Check it out!
Architect Jim equipped this place with floor to ceiling glass windows and doors, air conditioning and heat and all kinds of green features.
The landscaping around the container was done by Jon Ahrens of Madrone Landscaping. I love the green roof! Green roofs can help reduce the cost of heating and cooling PLUS they look beautiful.
They kept the original container doors on one end for the opening to the garden shed.
The inside is kept pretty simple, which is good in a small space. At the far end of the room are the bathroom and sink.
Here's the bathroom, outfitted with an open shower and electric composting toilet!
The walls and floors are covered in bamboo ply. Very durable and great looking.
I love this space. It's small but looks awesome and serves its purpose well.
