Interior of the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Barcelona
2:27 AM
I just discovered a new blog called the Contemporist. It is dedicated for architects and interior designers to discover new products and projects in the world of contemporary design. They did a beautiful write up on the Mandarin Oriental in Barcelona. It is a wonderful project in a city that I am quite fond of. Feast your eyes on these photos:
Barcelona is a beautiful city with a great urban scape.
Now that is an infinity pool with a view of Barcelona's urban density.
Clean, crisp design with hardwood floors that you rarely see in hotel projects.
The lobby has some great, subtly effective elements going on there.
That is a ridiculously awesome atrium area.
The mesh dividers creates a slightly intimate space at the indoor pool area.
Rich green tones creates the calming effect.
Nice outdoor chair!
An outdoor lounge area with a view of great architecture.
I wish I had a bath tub that floated in the middle of a room.
Love the sink.
Guest rooms that still feel connected to the overall suite layout.
Sliding doors giving the flexibility for you to determine the intimacy level of the space.
I'm a big fan of sofas with a ton of back cushions. It makes it feel more like home.
Sleek bar decor with subtle yellow hues that would make Kelly Wearstler proud.
The ceiling looks like a stunning decorative plate.
Outdoor, private dining with the benefits of kitchen theater.
All of that natural light makes the space look even more amazing.
Another view of that stunning atrium area.

ReplyDeleteI know. I love places that are transformational. Places where you set foot and your state of mind completely changes.
