The Shade Store: Window Treatments for the Modern Lifestyle.

I was in New York last month when I just happened to stumble upon this little hidden treasure. The Shade Store has it's own store within The Conran Shop. The Shade Store offers couture quality window treatments, which is handmade to your specifications. You can request free samples, and orders ship 10 days or less. It's custom made simple.

What really intrigued me were the custom roller shades that they offer. Not that there is anything wrong with luxurious silk draperies, but I want something a little cleaner and a little simpler for my modern aesthetics. You can choose amongst a good selection of solids and contemporary prints. They even offer blackout shades for those looking for privacy and minimal light filtration in their bedroom.

There is also an option to choose roller shades made by chilewich. Chilewich is best known for their cool plynyl placemats, which you probably have seen in some of the trendiest restaurants around the country.

    Windows can usually be left out when it comes to decoration, but why. From my perspective your windows can have such a big impact on your house. Decorating them is pretty easy you can use various methods including blinds, which I feel is the best method because there are a massive selection of different colours and designs to choose from, therefore you will be able to find a blind to fit your homes design.
